Halloween Ring Pin Cushion

The weather here has turned cool and it has really put me in the Halloween mood. Here is a spooky little pin cushion and a couple of skully sewing pins. The pin cushion is made from a water bottle cap and craft felt. I found the ring base in the jewelry section at Hobby Lobby. You can just wear your little pin cushion while you sew. If you don't want to wear a ring, you can velcro it to your sewing machine. It's very handy.

Dollar Tree art

I got the idea to make these from a neat blog called Make the Best of What's Around You. Go check out the link for detailed instuctions, but the basic idea is that you buy these little guys from the Dollar Tree and then paint them. They start out sort of ugly and very different looking (the vampire was greenish, the skeleton was red, and the wolf was sort of gold). When they are finished they will look like a matching set. Very cute for Halloween!
