Thanksgiving Snacks
These are my little snacks I made for Thanksgiving this year.
Candy Acorns |
I found the idea for these acorns on Pinterest....love me some Pinterest! I couldn't get it to link back to the directions, but it was easy enough to figure out. Here's how I made them: Open mini Nutter Butter cookies and remove the peanut butter. Put a small skillet on the the stove eye and get it hot, touch the bottom of the Hershey kiss to the skillet to melt it, then stick the melted part to the Nutter Butter. Melt the bottom of a chocolate chip and put it on top as a stem.
Turkey Cake Pops |
Make your chocolate cake pops. Be sure they have chilled for about 30 minutes then use melted chocolate as glue to put the candy corn feathers on. Let those chill for a few minutes, then add the eyes (made ahead of time from royal icing), beak (pointed end of candy corn), and waddle (candy sprinkle).

Breaking Dawn Goodies
Some of my Twilight Saga crazy friends and myself decided to go see the midnight showing of Breaking Dawn. Well, you just can't go to a movie that late without a midnight snack - goodie bags are a must!!
I used the Martha Stewart "Drippy Goo" punch to add some blood at the bottom of the tag. To make the blood look wet, I added a little diamond glaze.
The goodie bags have Ghirardelli dark chocolate squares (with gooey red rasberry filling inside), vampire fang cookies, and vampire bite cookies. Oh, and plastic vampire teeth...of course. :-)
These vampire bite cookies are so much fun. They are filled with red jelly on the inside, so when you bite into them, they "bleed". I got the idea and recipe from Baking Bites blog. Check out it out for the complete recipe.

Mustache Card
My sweet friend gave me this fun Amuse stamp set (Foiled Again). This is a quick card I made using some of the stamps. The middle mustache is popped out and has ultra fine "Flower Soft" flocking on it. I just love all of the cute 'staches in this set.

Becoming Flo
Another Halloween is over. If your kids are like mine, they are already thinking about next year's costume. Maybe you are one of those that like to plan way ahead too. If so, you may want to consider my costume for next Halloween. I was Flo from Progressive. It was very easy and I even found a web site with step by step instructions. The most expensive part was the iron on printer paper, normally it is about $7 for a pack of 5 sheets, but I got it for around $5 with a coupon . The apron was about $3. Both purchased at Hobby Lobby. I didn't own white pants or shirt like Flo's, but found them both at the Goodwill - $5 for the outfit. The navy head band was $1 at the Dollar Tree. I already had the shoes. So I spent about $14 total. Not too bad considering the price of some costumes at the party stores. Check out the website if you decide to be Flo next year. FLO INSTRUCTIONS
