Valentine Candy Box

I was lucky enough to get spend some time with my craft buddies this week. We got together and made Valentine goodies at my friend Patty's. She came up with these little adorable little cheese boxes for us to make. They are big enough to hold about 3 Hershey Kisses and some loose m&m's.  Aren't they cute?!?

52 Week Project - Week 4

This week snuck up on me, so I just took a quick picture with my cell phone. I used the Instagram app with the Limo filter. I hope to get a little more creative next week.

Sketch #39

I am still working toward my goal of doing more scrapbook pages in 2011.  I did this layout based on Sketch #39 at the Sketchabilities blog.  I used some Marshmallow Glimmer Mist on the back ground but it doesn't show up in the picture very well.  If anyone has a tip on getting the shimmer and glimmer to show up on photos, please let me know.

Happy Mail

My inlaws ordered this wonderful camera bag as my Christmas gift, but it was on back order, so I knew I wouldn't get it until early January. I found out it was supposed to be delivered earlier this week, but because the snow, the UPS man wasn't able to deliver it on time. It finally came last night and I am loving it!!

Crop Suey: January Challenge

This year I would like to complete more scrapbook layouts.  To get me going, I am going to try some blog challenges.  Crop Suey has a cool January challenge, so I decided to start there first.  If you want to play along, go here for details. The challenge is to use the ad below for inspiration. I love the retro look.  Red, black, and yellow together always make me think of Mickey Mouse...doesn't it for everyone??  I have a "retro" picture of me (in my mouse ears) and my sister that I have been wanting to work on for a while. So I just went from there and created an 8x8 layout. Here it is:

52 Week Project

It's a New Year, so it is time for a new project. I saw this on a couple of blogs, and thought it was great.  The idea is to get YOU in the picture. Go to the 52 Week Project blog and check it out! Since I take most of the pictures in my family, I am rarely in them.  I want to change that so my kids have pictures of their mom to look back on when they are older.  I would also like to have more pictures of the hubs and myself together too.  My goal is to start asking people to take pictures of us (and me) more often.  For this 52 Week Project, I will take self portraits and post them to my blog once a week - some with my cell phone and some with my camera. So here is the first picture of my project.  Taken with the Instagram app on my phone using the toast filter.  I love the fun filters on that app.
