Hello Spring!

I made this spring cake for my neice's Sweet 16 birthday dinner. Don't these flowers look real??  They are actually silk flowers from Hobby Lobby.  I cut and washed the plastic stems before putting them in the cake.  Happy Spring everyone!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Lucky me found these coconut m&m's that just happened to be the perfect colors for a St.Patty's day treat.

Crochet Bag

I made this little bag for my daughter to carry her iPod around in.  I got the idea and pattern from the Tangled Happy blog.  Of course I am still learning, so it is not perfect, but I think it turned out pretty good for a newbie at this craft.  Go check out Tangled Happy to make one of your own.

Sketch Challenge

I made this card for the Sketch Challenge over at the Some Odd Girl blog. This Odd Girl clear stamp is Photo Kaylee.  I colored her skin with Copic markers and colored everything else with colored pencil.  Kaylee has been feeling the Disney magic, so she is dressed in the traditional Minnie Mouse polka dots while she snaps some pics of Mickey.

Angry Birds Cake

Angry Birds is one of my favorite games, so I was excited about making this cake for a little boy's birthday.  This cake is decorated with fondant...including birds and pigs.

Owl Cupcakes

I made these sweet little owls for a baby shower.  It's hard to see in this picture, but some have have their little eyes closed because they are sleeping. Owls are made of fondant and cupcake wrappers are made from regular pattern paper.

Hello Kitty Cake

I made this Hello Kitty cake for a sweet little girl's birthday party.  I was trying to match the pink on Kitty's bow, but couldn't get it exactly.  The stripes and other colors match the invitation.

The fun thing about this cake is the Hello Kitty topper.  It is a mirror wand (mirror is on back) that can be kept and used after the party.  It has a long slim handle that is hid because I poked it down in the cake.  It worked great as a topper.  The mirror came in a Hello Kitty hair care set that I found at Target.
