Mickey Muffins

I am craving Mickey shaped muffins from the Boardwalk Bakery today.  I guess I am really just missing my home away from home.  We love these yummy muffins before  heading to the parks.

Coca Cola scrappy page...

I've finally got around to completing another page for my Walt Disney World album.  This one has pictures of the kids playing in the mist that falls from the large Coca Cola bottle at Hollywood Studios.  It is a perfect cool down on hot summer day in the parks.

This is a traditional 12x12 layout. The background page is just a super light piece of green card stock.  The pattern paper is from Echo Park (Everyday Eclectic) and MME (On the Bright Side).

 The Coca Cola logo was made on the Silhouette using Loki Cola font pack free on the Internet. The other letters are from Simple Stories

 The bubbles were made using some of my old clear boarder stamps. I think they were Technique Tuesday, just not sure because the packaging was gone a long time ago.  The dots are Doodle Bug. I thought they sort of looked like a side ways hidden Mickey...and of course, Coke has bubble.

Tower of Terror scrappy page...

One of my goals this year is to get back to my scrapbooking.  I have a stack of vacation stuff I really want to get into books this year.  So here is my first page of the year.

This 12x12 page is made with the Simple Stories line Say Cheese (I LOVE this line!).  My page has a list of my favorite rides at Walt Disney World.  The picture is an 8X8 size Instagram photo of the Tower of Terror ride that I just took a couple of weeks ago.

Scrappy Page

It's been a while since I have done any scrapbooking, but I am getting beck to it. I am working on some challenges over at DisneyScrappers.  This one is for a "Just Cool It" challenge.  Since I am working on my water park pages, this challenge is perfect!

 

 

 

I used a lot of MME and Basic Grey here.  I also used a Susan Stringfellow's sketch - #74. The pictures were taken on a rainy day...ok, more like stormy day at Typhoon Lagoon (Walt Disney World).  Perfect for picture taking.

Ride the Wave

Here is another scrapbook page about the wonderful Typhoon Lagoon water park in Walt Disney World.  This one has a lot of pictures on one page and they are all from the Surf Pool.  On the left you see a series of pictures showing the wave as it grows. The ones on the right show my family among the crowd in the wave pool.  I pointed them out with a little twine. 

 

Products used:  Basic Grey What's Up and Konnichiwa stickers, Fancy Pants The Good Life paper, Simple Stories Summer Fresh stickers and some very old Karen Foster paper for the background.

 

 

Lilo and 12x12 Divided Photo Sleeves for Ring Albums

Let's face it, with digital cameras, we have all taken more pictures than we can possibly scrapbook in our lifetime.  If you are like me, most of those pictures just hang out on your computers never to be seen by anyone.  I have recently started working on getting those pictures printed and at least getting them into photo albums.  Of course I can't afford to print them all at once, so this will be an ongoing project starting with my most recent vacations.  I am going to use 3 Ring Albums with 12x12 divided photo sleeves.  This type album and sleeves allows me to mix photo pages and scrapbook pages all in the same album. The sleeves come in a variety of different pocket arrangements so you can mix and match how you like.  The sleeve I used below was divided so that I could add four 4x6 photos and a little 8x6 scrappy layout.

 

All of these photos are taken at Walt Disney World's Typhoon Lagoon.

 

I cut the title with my Silhouette using the "Buka Bird" font downloaded free from the internet.

Star Wars Parade

Do you love Star Wars? Do you love Disney? If so, you have to go to Star Wars Weekend at Disney's Hollywood Studios. It is such a fun weekend and the parade is one of the best parts because you can see so many characters in one place.  I did a scrapbook layout about the parade and used a sketch from the Sketch Savvy blog.  I used October Afternoon's Captains Log and Cosmo Cricket's Logic Board papers, the font is downloaded from the internet and cut on my Silhouette, Martha Stewart "Cracks" border punch, and rub-ons from a Star Wars set.

Amtrak: D.C. to NYC

It has been a couple of years since our D.C./NYC vacation and I am just now getting around to doing a scrapbook page about it.  I did this page after I started taking the Scrapbooking Family Vacations Workshop with Nancy Damiano at Two Peas in a Bucket.  {I won the workshop from a contest over from the Creatively Savvy blog - Thanks Susan!}  I have finished two chapters in the workshop and I am loving it so far.  I'm learning how to organize vacation memorabilia and pictures, learning new techniques, and getting to see some beautiful layouts.  I highly recommend this workshop!

 The paper is from the Basic Grey "wander" collection.

I got the idea to make this little clear envelope from the workshop. I made it with my Silhouette cutting machine. When you pull the tickets out you can still see the rest of the picture, which is more trains.  Being able to view the tickets through the envelope allows you to see the date, place, seat number, etc.

 I made the edge of my journaling look like a postage stamp with decorative scissors.

 The little popped up arrow is also from Basic Grey.

Castaway Creek

I love water parks and nobody does it better than Walt Disney World.  This layout is all about Castaway Creek, the lazy river at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon water park.  It is sooo relaxing and something the entire family enjoys.  On this day there was a thunder storm, so everyone had to get out of the water until it was gone.  It was a perfect time to get some pictures while lazy river was empty.

Gangplank Falls Scrappy Page

On our last Disney Vacation we went to Typhoon Lagoon water park.  One of my favorite slides there was Gangplank Falls because the entire family can ride together.  It was so much fun. 

I made a simple scrapbook layout using this sketch.  I really wanted to focus on the pictures, so I didn't add a lot of embellishments. The picture that looks blurry is us going through a water fall.

 The title font is called Square Rough and I used my Silhouette to cut it. The little wood plank is just brown card stock that I embossed with a Paper Studio Wood Grain embossing folder. The flowers are Prima.  The little hidden Mickey is from a punch.

4 Parks, 1 World

My family will be heading to the wonderfully magical Walt Disney World in about a week.  I am so excited!!  It is all that's on my mind, so I thought I would share this scrapbook layout I did for a sketch challenge.

To give these plastic letters a pop of color, I used Copic markers to go around the edges.

National Scrapbook Weekend

It's National Scrapbook Weekend.   Have you done any scrapping?  I have not had much time to scrapbook myself, but I did manage to get one page done. This is one for a challenge using paint. Scrapping a Cinderella page - boy style

I did this page for a challenge about Disney restaurants.  The pictures are of my son and our desserts from Cinderella's Royal Table. I wanted to use crowns, but didn't want it be "girly", so I used brown paper and some old My Mind's Eye "Handsome Crown" pattern paper.

Scrapbooking

I got my Halloween pictures printed and was able to do a little scrapbooking this weekend.

My son is 10 and wanted to be something scary this year, so he went with the guy from the Scream movies. The paper is Stampin Up and Little Yellow Bicycle. 

I wanted to incorporate scallops for the challenge over at Paper Issues.  Go check out this fabulous blog if you haven't already!

 

My daughter and her friend are into Monster High, so I used the packaging off the doll boxes for this layout.
