Wrap it up!

I guess everyone is busy getting things all wrapped up...literally. :-)

I love small lunch bag type sacks for gift packaging. Theses chevrons bags came from Hobby Lobby. You can add detailed embellishments, or leave them plain.  I went the easy route...just made a circular tag with a deer stamps from Stampin Up and sentiment stamp from Some Odd Girl.  So if you are looking for a different type of gift bag, try this idea!

Give 'em some twine!

I was looking through the Target dollar section and came across some baker's twine on the cutest gingerbread packaging.  So I thought....I can make something like that.  Since it was only a dollar, I bought one to use as an example.

I decided to make mine a little smaller.  The EK Success Gingerbread punch works perfect!  So here they are with the example from Target...along with the punch.

This punch is great because it also punches little bows and faces.

Complete the look by putting them in a festive bag.  Now you have a great little gift!

It's a Hol-ODD-Day Hop!!

holodddayhop
WELCOME to our Hol-ODD-Day Hop!  You should have arrived from Mary Pat Siehl's blog. If not, CLICK HERE to get to the beginning...you don't want to miss one minute of the fun!!

We are VERY happy to bring you some of our ODD gift and decor ideas.  Hopefully we will inspire you to be odd and crafty for the holidays too.  I have made a Christmas Tree Ornament and a waterless Snow Globe. I used the clear sets Snow Bunny and HoliDeer.  Both are great for decorating your home, but would also make super fun gifts too.

Here is the Snow Globe (waterless).

...and here is the ornament.

You can find the empty ornaments/globes at most craft stores.  While you are there, grab some clear acetate.  You can get 12x12 sheets in the specialty paper section (with the scrapbook stuff) or large poster board size sheets in the art section. Stamp your image onto the acetate with "StazOn" ink.  Then paint the back side of the image for a cleaner look. You can use craft paint or paint pens. So how do you get it in there? Just cut it in a circle shape, roll it up, push it into the ornament and let it unroll. Finish up by adding fake snow.

Isha Gupta's blog is the next stop for you.  So grab a cuppa cocoa, turn up the Christmas tunes, and take your time hopping around!!  There are some random thingies to be won here and there, but I can’t tell you exactly where!  You'll have to make sure to visit all of the blogs below and leave some love at each stop

Judy Bagwell   YOU ARE HERE

Remember to leave your comments between now and Sunday, December 15th and we’ll have some winners to announce on Monday, the 16th!  Be sure to check back at the Some Odd Girl blog all week...there may some extra fun and prizes going on there too.

You never know what those ODD elves will be up to!

DECEMBER Challenge!

It is DECEMBER already!  WHAT?!? How did that happen??? LOL!

We have a new challenge going on at Some Odd Girl this month.  We are challenging you to make your own pattern background.  You can use washi, paint, stencils...anything.  So create something Odd and link up!!

I made this sugar coated tag using the Gingerbread Kaylee set.
To make my pattern background, I stamped the gingerbread people using white ink on white paper. Then heat embossed them with white embossing powder.  After that I inked the paper with brown ink.  I covered the entire tag with a sheet of velum to give it a frosted look.

What will you come up with? Need more ideas? Check out the Some Odd Girl blog and take a look at the other Odd Girl's designs.

Scrapbook Adhesive by 3L HOP!

http://www.someoddgirlblog.com/dtblog2/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/3L.jpg

Thanks for joining our week-long HOP!  Stamps and sticky stuff  join hands for a fun and inspiring event that runs November 25th through December 1st, and we’ve got 5 days’ worth of stunning creations to share with you while you hop!

Some Odd Girl and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L will be sharing projects on their blogs Monday through Friday, and if you follow along and comment on each of the posts along the way (that’s 10 comments you’ll need to make, folks!), you’ll be entered to win some serious swag from both companies!  There are two happy boxes of adhesives from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L and two $20 gift certificates to the Some Odd Girl shop to be won!

Here are the main blog links:

I love Scrapbook Adhesive by 3L's foam squares!  They are perfect for fitting right in the corner of scrapbook pages...and give just the right amount of pop on my cards.  The E-Z Runner is exactly what I need for my flat projects.  It's so easy to use and this roll seems to last forever!

Here you can see how the red mushy is nice and flat (using the E-Z Runner) and the green one is popped up perfectly (using the foam square).

I used my Some Odd Girl digi stamp Mushes Set and the sentiment is from On Safari clear set.

Be sure to make your way around to both blogs each day this week and you have until Sunday, December 1st at midnight EST to squeeze in all your commenting – we’ll be announcing the two lucky winners on Monday, December 2nd!   Happy hoppin’!

While you've got your awesome Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L out, don't forget to make a project for the Speech Bubbles Challenge going on at Some Odd Girl too!

Thanksgiving Place Cards

Thanksgiving is just around the corner.  Do you decorate?  If you do, have you thought about your table decorations yet?

Here are a couple of ideas for cute place cards....

These little pumpkins are made with the new Pumpkin Card Base cut file from Some Odd Girl.  They are made on the Silhouette.  I made them pretty small, about 2 1/2-3 inches high.

These little pilgrim hats are made with small terrocotta pots.  They are painted with chalk board paint, so you can change them if they guest list is different from year to year.  Then you add a little ribbon and felt for the hat band.

Both ideas are super fun to make, easy, and won't cost a lot.

Perfectly Odd Hop!

WELCOME to A Perfectly Odd Hop
You should have arrived here from Pam Sparks' blog.

Some Odd Girl had the pleasure of getting together with Perfect Paper Crafting at CHA in Vegas, and a collaborative event was an absolute NO-BRAINER.! Would the Odd Girls like to try out some fun tools?  Heck yes!  Does the Perfect Paper Crafting team want to play with some cute stamps?  Sure thing!

So here we are! The Odd Girls have partnered up with the lovely ladies from Perfect Paper Crafting to bring you this fabulously inspiring BLOG HOP! The hop will run through Sunday, November 17th.

If you’re not already familiar with Perfect Paper Crafting, you are in for a TREAT that is fun and different!  Their tools allow crafters to get perfect placement of their mats and edges, easily shape and layer, and AIRBRUSH for gorgeous effects on their projects!  The Odd Girls enjoyed playing with their Perfect LayersPerfect Squares, and Perfect Ruler for this little event.

I got to play with the Perfect Layers tool and it is the tool for me - because (confession time!) I don't measure stuff. So when I layer, things can look a bit wonky....even with my paper trimmer. Perfect Layers truly makes a perfect layer - every time - with not measuring.  AND it is super easy to use. Click HERE to watch how it works!

(Using SOG Little Loves clear set)

Your next stop will be Wendy Ramlakhan's blog,  but in case you get lost or distracted along the way, here’s the hop order:

Be sure to comment at every stop and you’ll be eligible to win one of TWO prize packs that include one of these tools and a stamp set of your choice!

There will be inspiration throughout the week on the Some Odd Girl Blog. You can see how the Odd Girls have used the Perfect Paper Crafting tools, and maybe a little guest project here and there from our partners in this hop!  You have until Sunday at midnight EST to leave your comments, and Some Odd Girl and Perfect Paper Crafting will each draw one winner, to be announced on Monday, November 18th.  Have a Perfectly Odd day, and good luck!

Speech Bubble challenge!

Wow!! Can you believe November is here already?  Crazy, huh!

Since it's a new month, we have a new challenge for you over at the Some Odd Girl blog.  We are challenging you to use SPEECH BUBBLES!  You can use stickers, wood embellies, pattern paper with speech bubbles, or just draw them yourself.  Check out the details and come link up!

I used the new SOG Speech Bubbles cut file to make some fun lunch box notes for my kiddos.  I've always enjoyed slipping little notes in with their lunch, but now that they are older the "babyish" ones just won't work.  Since speech bubbles are so popular, they are perfect for my middle schoolers.
I made them using the Silhouette.  The first thing I did was use the little silhouette ink pins to draw the speech bubbles instead of cut. Then I offset that shape (which makes a larger image around your original shape). To do that I just right clicked on my image and picked offset from the drop down box.  I deleted the inner image that I just printed, then cut out the offset image.  Don't remove your paper between printing and cutting....AND remember to remove your pin and replace the blade before you cut.

I hope that made sense!  Have a fantastic Friday!!

Happy Halloween!

I'm going to squeeze a few more spooky cards in before Halloween is over....

I found this zombie stamp at Joann's in the dollar bin.  (Pefrect any time of the year for a Walking Dead fan!) The sentiment is from A Muse.

These fun little spiders are from There She Goes.

The stamps in this card are from There She Goes and the washi is from Stampin Up!

Happy Halloween!!

Trick...or...Treat, with the ODD GIRLS!

Ding Dong! Is that a Trick or Treater at my blog door???

Hello!! I'm so happy you are Trick or Treating with the Odd Girls this week! You should have arrived here from the Some Odd Girl blog.  If you’ve just stumbled onto our hop today, you’ll want to go back to the Some Odd Girl blog to start at the beginning.

Our Halloween Hop is full of spooktacular Tricks and Treats. ( Don’t worry, our tricks won’t be too scary!) Just like trick or treating for candy, you don’t want to skip any houses…or blogs in this case!  In order to win TREATS, you must leave a comment on each of the Design Team blogs.

Today I am going to share a few TRICKS with you that will help you get the most out of your Some Odd Girl clear stamps.  Just like a mad scientist, we'll dissect our sentiments. Then we'll put them back together in a different layout...sort of like Frankenstein.

Now it's time for you to Trick or Treat at Suzanne's blog. She is the next stop....and I hear she has something you'll like even more than candy. Remember, no ding-dong-ditching! You have to comment to win!

You can Trick or Treat with us through midnight EDT on October 31 {HALLOWEEN}. Winners will be announced Saturday Nov 2 on the Some Odd Girl blog.

Treat Box and Bow

I made this little Halloween treat box with my Silhouette. The cute little bow was also made with the Silhouette using the new Some Odd Girl Bow Cut File. The nice thing about using the cut files is that you can change the size.  So you could use the Bow Cut File to make really large bows and for little tiny bows.  It's great for any size gift or craft project!

Check out the Some Odd Girl blog for other projects using this fun cut file and the Mae Antionette digital stamp!

Bone Appetit!

These small brown paper bags are the perfect size for Halloween treats.  I used a Stampin Up! stamp along with one that I found in the in the dollar section at Joann's. If you like to Boo your neighbor's, this treat bag would be great for that.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Genie in a bottle...

We have NEW digi's at Some Odd Girl today.  Genie Kody and Genie Gwen are here to grant all of your wishes!  They are perfect for any occasion, but would also be sooo cute for Halloween cards and scrappy pages....especially if your little one dresses as a genie for trick or treating.

This is Genie Gwen....

and here's a peek at Genie Kody getting colored up....

You'll want to see the other Odd Girl creations using the new genies, so head over to the Some Odd Girl blog to see what they have made.

A Witchy Treat!

Why should kids have all the Halloween fun?!?  Don't forget to give treats to your grown friends too!

I made this treat bag using Witchy Mae, a digital stamp from Some Odd Girl.  Right now she is the featured digi of the month.  That means she is 35% off...no tricks here, all treat!

This treat is super easy to make.  All you need is a small paper bag filled with "something good to eat", some fun paper (I used Stampin' Up!), and your favorite Odd digi.  Cut a strip of paper and snip the tails at the bottom.  Add any circle embellishment and put your digi on top of that.  Add a sentiment....I used one from the  Make A Statement clear set (also a SOG stamp).  To finish up, just fold it over the top of the bag and staple into place.  Now you have a special treat that is fun for any age!

Check out the Some Odd Girl blog for other fun ways to use Witchy Mae!

Royal Birthday

Happy Friday!! Today I have a tag for you.
I made the background by using my Dylusion inks....I got spritz happy!  I also used Craffiti stamps (with Art by Elena Guzinska) and colored my image with Copic Markers.  The little sentiment (sorry, can't find the packaging to tell you who made them) says "Royal Hugs & Kisses on your Birthday!".

ZOMBIES!!!!

Two posts in one day....watch out, I'm getting crazy now!  LOL!! I really wanted you to see the new digi release going on today at Some Odd Girl because they are ZOMBIES!! I just couldn't wait.

This is Zombie Mae (and we also have Zombie Kody).  I made a little framed art with Mae to put out for Halloween.

She is so much fun to color.  She has beauty and BRAINS....ha ha ha!!  Head over to the Some Odd Girl shop to get your Zombie Mae and Kody today!

Ombre Challenge

Some Odd Girl is announcing the new Design Team today, and I am beyond excited that I am going to be on the team again. I had a blast working the fab group of ladies on the outgoing team and I will miss them....but I know we will continue to be on line craft buddies and stay in touch.  Now I am looking forward to bonding with the new girls over the coming months as we create a lot of Odd wonderfulness.  Make sure to check out the SOG blog and leave these new girls some love!

With a new Design Team comes new {and fun} changes.  One change will be our monthly challenges.  We all love the sketch challenges, but it's time to mix things up a little.  This month we have an Ombre challenge for you.  So get your craft supplies out and play along with us!

For this challenge, I made an Ombre background to use on my tag.  You don't have to make a back ground - you could do ombre hair, an ombre dress, ombre sky, etc.  Make it your own and have fun
I used Kaylee's Closet with the Witchy Wears outfit.  She has to be on of my favorite sets and her outfit really gets me in the Halloween mood!

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday....LATE!

Here's a little card I made for a friend's birthday....late (bowing my head in shame).  I thought this cute little rabbit looked like he was hiding, so he was perfect for a belated birthday card.

My lighting is a little dark, but I was trying to get it to show the embossed words, so I hope you can see it well enough.  Casting shadows was the only thing working with my limited self taught camera skills.

I used The Cat's Pajamas "Birthday Bunny" clearly swanky stamp set.  He is colored with Copic markers.
