Reindeer Swirl

Christmas will be here in just a few days, but there is still time to get those last minute cards out.

I like a lot of shimmer on Christmas cards, so I made these using heat embossed glitter.

The stamp is from Stampendous and is called Reindeer Swirl. I also used a Heidi Swap 6x6 stencil and snow-tex paste to make the falling snow.  The snow on the ground is just the paste with some glitter.

I have made a snow globe type ornament using ChrisMouse and the snowflake from the Yeti clear sets.  I have embossed the snow flakes and colored the image with copic markers.

Here's an idea of what it would look like hanging on the Christmas tree...

A NEW Gwen

Today I have another NEW clear set from Some Odd Girl for you.  It's called Garden Gwen. Like, yesterday's new set, this one is also a cute portrait and frame set - and I think you're gonna LOVE it!  Gwen and her flowers are so much fun to color.

I colored Gwen's flowers up with fall colors using my Copics.  I stamped the frame on some Arc Crafts wood grain paper and popped it up with some foam tape.

Drop by the Some Odd Girl blog and see what the other Odd Girls have come up with using the new Garden Gwen set.

Some Odd Girl has new clear stamps for you this week.  These sets are character portraits that also come with cute frames and sentiments.  Today I want to show you Wink Mae...

I stamped the frame on craft foil and colored Mae up with Copic markers.  I also used Arc Crafts bark wood adhesive backed paper. There are so many fun ways to use this set, so make sure to click over the Some Odd Girl blog and see what the other girls made.

Trick or Treat with The ODD GIRLS!

Welcome to Some Odd Girl‘s 2nd annual Trick or Treat Halloween Hop!

Thank you so much for joining us!  All of the Odd Girls have concocted a creepy little creation to inspire you today, and you’re invited to visit each blog to see what’s been brewing!  You might have arrived from Anna’s blog – if so, you’re on the right track!  If not, you’ll want to CLICK HERE to get things started, because you won’t want to miss a thing!

I have made a little Halloween tag for you using the cute Hot Dog clear set. He is perfect for a fun Halloween treat or on your Halloween costume scrapbook pages.

and here's a TRICK....
Put a dot of hot glue on the tip of a toothpick and let dry - since it dries kind of tacky you can use it to pick up sequins or similar tiny craft embellishments  - refresh glue daub as needed.

As if this wasn’t exciting already, we have a discount code for you too!

Be sure to leave a comment at each stop, and if YOU have any tricks you’d like to share, we’d love to hear them!  There might just be a prize in it for one commenter who leaves us a trick!

Here’s your hop order:
Judy (you are here!)
Kristy
And there you have it!  We will hop now through October 31st at midnight Eastern, and our winners will be announced back here on the Some Odd Girl blog on Monday, November 3rd.  Happy Haunting – I mean HOPPING! Your next stop is Brianna's blog.
Happy Halloween from all of us at Some Odd Girl!

Are you YETI for this!?!

Does he really exist? Yes he does! Today I want to introduce you to Yeti from Some Odd Girl.  He is no urban legend...he is fur real and in the shop this week.  Don't worry, he is too cute to be scary.  Yeti would be great for so many occasions, let me show you a couple...

Here I have him colored up to look more like what I think a Sasquatch or Big Foot would look like. I used the new Sunshine Sorbet paper and sequins too.

Here I have him colored up to look more like a Yeti (or abominable snow man).  Perfect for winter themed projects. I also used more of the new paper and sequins.  I turned the blue wood grain paper side ways so it looks like a swirly winter back ground.
Make sure you stop by the Some Odd Girl blog to get more ideas and fun ways to use Yeti!

In addition to the new paper and embellishments, Some Odd Girl has 2 new clear sets this week too.  Today I want to introduce you to Sweater Kaylee.  She knows the weather is about to turn cool, so she has knitted up some fun socks and a cozy sweater.  Check her out!

I paired her up with the new Sunshine Sorbet paper, Sorbet Sequins, and wood Hexie Dots.  Her clear set comes with four really cute sentiments and a fun stitching stamp.  As always, our Odd Girls have more to show you on the Some Odd Girl blog, so stop by and see what there too.

Don't forget to add your Odd creations to the Linky Party....you could be featured or even win prizes.  Plus we LOVE seeing your awesome designs.

It's here, it's here!!

Are you ready to for this exciting news?  Ok, here it is....Some Odd Girl now has PAPER!! That's right, I said paper.  How exciting is that?!? This paper is nice and sturdy with super fun prints that coordinate with Some Odd Girl embellishments and stamps.  In addition to the new paper, we are also adding some fun wood veneers and new sequins to the shop too.  The wood veneers are cute little hexie shapes (in 3 sizes) and the sequins match the colors of the new papers. That's a LOT of Odd awesomeness coming your way this week.

I used the new Sunshine Sorbet paper to make a little Halloweeny pillow box.  Because this paper is a little thicker, it is perfect for card bases, your cut file projects, and making boxes.

I decorated my little pillow box with the new wood veneer hexies and sorbet sequins.  I painted the hexie dots, then sanded most of the color off after the paint dried.  Gives them a totally new look

Make sure you drop by the Some Odd Girl blog so you can see what the rest of the Odd Girls have done with the new paper and embellies!
