Easter Cake

This is the Easter cake I made for my family last year.  I had just learned how to do basket weave and make flowers in my cake class, so I was excited to use my new skills.

I know not everyone knows how to do all that, so let me tell you the super easy "sort of homemade" way to make a cake like this.  You won't have the basket look, but it will still be cute - and easy.  Buy boxed strawberry cake and strawberry icing (Duncan Hines is my fav).  Buy a chocolate bunny, robin egg candy, and candy grass.  All of that can be found at Target.  You can find pre made flower candies in the cake decorating section at Hobby Lobby.  Then ice your cake and decorate.  It's that easy.

  2. This is a beautiful cake and you should be proud of your accomplishment. I adore basket-weave and yours looks great. The overall appearance is just fun and a beauty to look at. I just want to dive in...bite off the ear of the bunny then have me some cake!
