Let them eat cake!

I am a sort of a newbie at cake decorating.  I took my first class 2 years ago.  I really enjoy it and have actually made a little money doing it too.  If you have ever thought about taking a cake decorating class, you should do it.  Get get some friends together and make it a girl's night out.  Here a few of my cakes.

I made this one for my neice's birthday to match her invitation.

This is our family Easter cake.  I didn't make the bunny, but I did make the flowers.

This is one is covered in fondant.  I personally don't like the way fondant tastes, but it does make a pretty cake. The characters on top can be kept as toys and the storm troopers are rings for all the party guests.

This one is for an 11 year old girl's birthday party.  The decorations are made from fondant, but I used buttercream to cover the cake so it would taste yummy.

Good bye Halloween

I am so sad to say good bye to Halloween.  I love this time of year and it seems to have come and gone so quickly this year.  I guess it is time to move on to the next holiday, but before I do, I am going to do one last last Halloween post. 

These pretty cookies look hard to make, but they are very easy.  Bake sugar cookies.  Then you will want have a new rubber stamp or one that has been cleaned really good.  Your "ink" will be gel food coloring.  Roll the fondant out and stamp the image.  Then cut with a circle cutter.  Let the "ink" dry a little before putting the fondant on the cookie. Use regular frosting as the glue to hold the fondant to the cookie.  This idea is great for any holiday.

These finger and claw cookies are made using the Wilton finger cookie mold.  I used Royal icing to decorate.

Wrap hot dogs with cresent rolls and bake.  Use mustard for the eyes.

Fun Fall Foods

I love all the fun foods you find this time of year.  If you ike pumpkin, you have to try the pumpkin Pop Tarts and the pumpkin Jello.  YUM!

Halloween Cards

These cards were all made using Stampin' Up! stamps.  I have a sweet friend who designs cards and then hosts card classes in her home. I made these at one of her classes.

Halloween Prizes

I made these for a Girl Scout costume contest. Since they are for little girls who really only care about the chocolate, I didn't want to use my "good" supplies.  I used left over card stock, rubber stamps, and my Quickutz Squeeze die cuts to cover and decorate large Hershey candy bars.  The titles are printed on regular copy paper. To finish it off I added a few googly eyes and some glitter.   They are quick and easy to make, and because I used stuff I already had, I only had to purchase the candy.

Halloween Bucket

I participated in a secret Halloween swap. We had to decorate a paint bucket and fill it up with some spooktacular goodies. Some items were hand made and others were store bought.

I decided to make a mummy bucket. Attached to the side is a card and a paint can opener.

I made these cards using Stampin' Up! stamps. The pattern paper is also SU. I used a Martha Stewart border punch for the drippy blood. Gotta love Martha's punches.
